Our brand, Ataro, derives its name from Ata-rodo, the intensely flavoured African habanero pepper renowned for infusing a unique depth and richness to West African cuisine. While the name might suggest a fiery intensity, it's essential to note that our offerings aren't necessarily about heat — they're about an explosion of flavours!

The genesis of Ataro products lies in the time-honoured recipes of West Africa. As a former restaurant owner in Nigeria, Ebere felt a compelling desire to share the unique taste of her homeland upon her arrival in the Netherlands. This led to the inception of Ataro Spice Mixes in 2015, sold via our dedicated online store. Yet, she noticed a vital element was absent: the authentic heat and spice of traditional meals that she and her family relished.

When the global pandemic unfolded, Ebere chose to turn crisis into opportunity, deciding to introduce the world to Ataro Hot Sauce. Her vision is that every person who savours this fiery delight will enjoy its taste and experience an authentic piece of West African culture, a refreshing taste sensation different from the regular offerings on European shelves.
